Kevin M. Deary
Born and raised in South Boston, Mass.
Kevin began his career with Boys and Girls Clubs in 1983 in Derry, New Hampshire. He moved to Goshen, Indiana in March of 1994 to become the Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Goshen organization.
Over the last 19 years the Boys & Girls Club has opened additional units, Middlebury, Nappanee and Elkhart and successfully completed two capital campaigns totaling $6.3m to building new clubs in Goshen and Middlebury. Membership has gone from 211 in 1994 to over 3000 today. Under Kevin’s leadership the budget has grown from $93,000 in 1994 to the current budget of $2.6 million.
Kevin has been recognized as Executive Director of the Year by the United Way of Elkhart County, Executive Director of the year for Boys and Girls Clubs in Indiana, and is a recipient of the prestigious Indiana Jaycees Outstanding Young Hoosier Award for service to community, and has received the highest civilian honor bestowed by the Governor of Indiana, the Sagamore of the Wabash award. In 2006, Kevin also received the “US Congressional Johnny Appleseed Leadership Award” in 2007.
Kevin served in the U.S. Navy for four years, and was stationed in Italy for three of the four years. While in the Navy, Kevin earned a spot on the U.S. Navy Boxing team that competed internationally.
Kevin is a graduate of Goshen College with a BS degree in Organizational Management and Master of Human Resource Development from Clemson University. He is a Graduate of the Thomas E. Garth Executive Leadership Program in Atlanta, GA
He is married to wife Jean; they have five children and four grandchildren.
